HAITI UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who has helped with the materials and sewing of the pillowcase dresses for Haiti project. In total, 150+ dresses are being sent to Haiti when a group of volunteers from several Island churches travel there in April.
Some additional items (gently used) that can be sent along are: boys/men's ling and short sleeve shirts, shirt ties, long dresses and skirts, summer scarves, and baby clothes.
Packets for new moms are also being put together. For these, the following are needed: Knitted baby receiving blankets; knitted baby skull caps; cloth diapers; face clothes and soaps; and powder baby cereal.
If you can help in any way, please contact CWF members Ferne or Lilian.
A small group of women meet every 2nd Tuesday at Access PEI from 9 until approx 12 noon to sew shields for Days for Girls. We would love to have anyone who's interested join us. You don't have to be able to sew, there is lots of cutting and ironing and checking quality to do. We are back at Access PEI on Feb. 23rd and meet every other Tuesday morning. Elise (902) 208-1105 or Beth @ (902) 687-2305. Last year our small group contributed to 51 shields that are about to be sent as part of 475 kits going to Kenya. We would love to have your help. The islands goal for making shields this year is 950 shields. We would love to have your help.
